As you walk into the space, your eye is struck by the numerous features in this kitchen and room renovation but your vision can’t escape focusing on the impressive 20-foot long granite counter.

The ribbon of granite counters dominates the many, high-end features that it encompasses. The granite curves around the double basins of the under-mount stainless steel sink and surrounds the 36” gas cooktop while the under-cabinet lighting illuminates the counter top’s working areas.

Helping to balance the impact of the dramatic counter top are 2” x 6” brick-stacked Italian backsplash tiles and a handsome wall of natural cherry cabinets above and below.

Not to be overmatched by the granite’s and wood’s pervading presence, the stainless steel appliances create a strong contrast and stand out in their well-placed positions throughout the kitchen. The dishwasher, overhead microwave oven, built-in double oven and large refrigerator/freezer help to underscore the kitchen’s function over its stately form.

This kitchen was created to work, so, naturally, a large granite-topped island is seamlessly incorporated into the design, providing not only additional working space for cooking but a table for social gatherings. The island’s base features the same natural cherry as the cabinets and custom-made corbals support the expanse of granite, providing an overhang feature for seating and eating.

The new hardwood floors as well as the new coordinated paint scheme combine to visually connect the kitchen and the adjacent, open entertainment room. These elements, integrated into a creative overall design, make it easy and comfortable to enjoy the many benefits that these large rooms have to offer.
